[1.1] Your privacy is important to us. It is Electric IT Ltd's policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect from you across our website, https://www.electricit.uk/, and other sites we own and operate.

[1.2] We only ask for personal information when we truly need it to provide a service to you. We collect it by fair and lawful means, with your knowledge and consent. We also let you know why we’re collecting it and how it will be used.

[1.3] We only retain collected information for as long as necessary to provide you with your requested service. What data we store, we’ll protect within commercially acceptable means to prevent loss and theft, as well as unauthorised access, disclosure, copying, use or modification.

[1.4] We don’t share any personally identifying information publicly or with third-parties, except when required to by law.

[1.5] Our website may link to external sites that are not operated by us. Please be aware that we have no control over the content and practices of these sites, and cannot accept responsibility or liability for their respective privacy policies.

Cancellation & Refund Policy [04/2020]

[1] Hosting

You may request cancellation of your hosting subscription at any time. If you are a pay-monthly customer, your subscription will end on the next month's payment date and you will not be charged. If you are an annually-paying customer, your subscription will end at the end of your pre-paid year's subscription. Unfortunately, we can not offer a refund for unused hosting if you cancel part way through your contracted subscription.

[2] Domain Names

When you purchase a domain name from us, you pay to rent the domain name for a minimum term of 1 year. We are unable to offer any refunds for domain names so it is important that, if you do not wish to renew your domain name, you turn of 'auto-renewal' in your client portal, or Contact Support to cancel the renewal for you.

[3] Design Purchases

You may cancel your website design order at any point by contacting your account manager, who will be in touch after your purchase. If you cancel within 48 hours then you will be entitled to a full refund less any costs already incurred by Electric IT Ltd, which includes but is not limited to Staff Time, purchase of software specific to the job, purchase of domain names, and purchase of materials. If you cancel after 48 hours, your initial deposit is not refundable, however you will not be required to pay the money owed for the rest of the job

Acceptable Use [01/2020]

[1] Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy document, including the following list of Prohibited Activities, is an integral part of your Hosting Agreement with Electric IT Ltd. If you engage in any of the activities prohibited by this AUP document Electric IT Ltd may suspend or terminate your account. Electric IT Ltd's Acceptable Use Policy (the "Policy") for Electric IT Ltd Services is designed to help protect Electric IT Ltd, Electric IT Ltd's customers and the Internet community in general from irresponsible or, in some cases, illegal activities. The Policy is a non-exclusive list of the actions prohibited by Electric IT Ltd. Electric IT Ltd reserves the right to modify the Policy at any time.

[2] Prohibited Uses of Electric IT Ltd Systems and Services

[2.1] Transmission, distribution or storage of any material in violation of any applicable law or regulation is prohibited. This includes, without limitation, material protected by copyright, trademark, trade secret or other intellectual property right used without proper authorization, and material that is obscene, defamatory, constitutes an illegal threat, or violates export control laws.

[2.2] Sending Unsolicited Bulk Email ("UBE", "spam"). The sending of any form of Unsolicited Bulk Email through Electric IT Ltd's servers is prohibited. Likewise, the sending of UBE from another service provider advertizing a web site, email address or utilizing any resource hosted on Electric IT Ltd's servers, is prohibited. Electric IT Ltd accounts or services may not be used to solicit customers from, or collect replies to, messages sent from another Internet Service Provider where those messages violate this Policy or that of the other provider.

[2.3] Running Unconfirmed Mailing Lists. Subscribing email addresses to any mailing list without the express and verifiable permission of the email address owner is prohibited. All mailing lists run by Electric IT Ltd customers must be Closed-loop ("Confirmed Opt-in"). The subscription confirmation message received from each address owner must be kept on file for the duration of the existence of the mailing list. Purchasing lists of email addresses from 3rd parties for mailing to from any Electric IT Ltd-hosted domain, or referencing any Electric IT Ltd account, is prohibited.

[2.4] Advertising, transmitting, or otherwise making available any software, program, product, or service that is designed to violate this AUP or the AUP of any other Internet Service Provider, which includes, but is not limited to, the facilitation of the means to send Unsolicited Bulk Email, initiation of pinging, flooding, mail-bombing, denial of service attacks.

[2.5] Operating an account on behalf of, or in connection with, or reselling any service to, persons or firms listed in the Spamhaus Register of Known Spam Operations (ROKSO) database at www.spamhaus.org/rokso.

[2.6] Unauthorized attempts by a user to gain access to any account or computer resource not belonging to that user (e.g., "cracking").

[2.7] Obtaining or attempting to obtain service by any means or device with intent to avoid payment.

[2.8] Unauthorized access, alteration, destruction, or any attempt thereof, of any information of any Electric IT Ltd customers or end-users by any means or device.

[2.9] Knowingly engage in any activities designed to harass, or that will cause a denial-of-service (e.g., synchronized number sequence attacks) to any other user whether on the Electric IT Ltd network or on another provider's network.

[2.10] Using Electric IT Ltd's Services to interfere with the use of the Electric IT Ltd network by other customers or authorized users.

[3] Customer Responsibility for Customer's Users

ach Electric IT Ltd customer is responsible for the activities of its users and, by accepting service from Electric IT Ltd, is agreeing to ensure that its customers/representatives or end-users abide by this Policy. Complaints about customers/representatives or end-users of an Electric IT Ltd customer will be forwarded to the Electric IT Ltd customer's postmaster for action. If violations of the Electric IT Ltd Acceptable Use Policy occur, Electric IT Ltd reserves the right to terminate services with or take action to stop the offending customer from violating Electric IT Ltd's AUP as Electric IT Ltd deems appropriate, without notice.
